This blog site is created for your information and enjoyment by wildlife photographer/nature writer Helen Deane Dozier. Deane lives at the southern end of Shenandoah National Park in Virginia's Blue Ridge, with park bears as her closest neighbors. She has documented Virginia's wild places with stories and photographs for many years, displaying her work at arts and crafts shows and in gift shops on the East Coast. Her comprehensive guidebooks on Virginia each won the Virginia Outdoor Writers Association top honor, the Excellence in Craft Award.
